It's Over: Zephyrs Stop Terrero
Tuesday, September 2nd , 2003
Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 24-game hitting streak, Omaha center fielder Luis Terrero went hitless in 4 at-bats at Rosenblatt Stadium.

The sudden hitting drought came as the Royals snagged the 7-4 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs.

"Nope, it's not magic," Terrero said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."

For the season, Terrero has hit .300 with 9 home runs and 42 RBIs. He has played in 122 games and scored 70 times.
