Walker Bombs 3 HR Against Memphis
Wednesday, June 2nd , 2004
The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Todd Walker did at AutoZone Park, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 8-7.
"It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Walker said. "Good things happen, when that happens."
The Colorado Springs Sky Sox second baseman blistered the Memphis Redbirds for 4 hits, batted in 7 runs and scored 3 times.
"It ain't like we weren't trying," Memphis manager Jim Dunegan said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today."
Todd Walker hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Neal Cotts in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Neal Cotts in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off D.J. Houlton in the 6th and struck out in the 9th.
Walker is currently batting .381 with 6 home runs, 11 runs scored and 19 RBIs. His OBP is .422.
