Wednesday, September 18th , 1991
In an exciting Division Series that had its fair share of drama and intrigue, perhaps it is MLB Rookie League fans who have come out the winner.
But on the field, the winners were the Fontana Knights, who edged the Aiken Clippers 3-2 to advance to the League Championship Series.
Fontana won the final game by a 6-1 count to wrap up the series. Mike Higgins earned series MVP honors, by hitting .429 with a .600 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 7 runs.
The Fontana Knights will play against the South Pottstown Night Riders in the next round. South Pottstown won their series against the Victoriaville Chameleons 3 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
