Season Ends for Danny Ortega of Lubbock Friday, August 30th , 1991 When Danny Ortega was hurt against the Modesto Flying Monkeys, the Lubbock Destroyers were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 24-year-old reliever suffered a torn back muscle throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Ortega would miss 5 months of the season. Looking at his season stats to date, Ortega has no saves in 9 relief appearances with a 1-1 record and 4.21 ERA. |
