Robertson Swats 3 HR Against Milpitas
Wednesday, August 28th , 1991
Mike Robertson went yard three times in a Coaling Spiders victory over the Milpitas Barons at Barons Ballpark today.
"I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."
For the day, the Coaling first baseman went 4-for-5 against Milpitas with 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Spiders to the 9-4 win.
"I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out."
Mike Robertson flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Justin Babich in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Scott Morris in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Travis DiSalvo in the 9th.
Currently Robertson has 10 home runs and a .281 batting average.
