Wawruck Booms 3 out of the Park Saturday, August 17th , 1991 Jim Wawruck was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 13-6 Mobile Voyagers triumph at Bearcats Ballpark today. The 21-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Voyagers past the Hornbeck Bearcats. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Wawruck told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The left fielder went 3-for-4, rung up 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs on his record-setting day. Jim Wawruck hit a solo-shot off Dave Pichardo in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Dave Pichardo in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Pedro Medina in the 5th, walked in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. During the current season Wawruck is batting at a .275 clip with 7 home runs and 28 RBIs. He has played in 46 games and scored 23 times. |
