Smith Shackles Birmingham Tuesday, August 6th , 1991 Dan Smith scattered 4 hits over 9 innings, going the distance in the 6-0 Milpitas Barons victory over the Birmingham Pirates at Barons Ballpark. The 16-year-old Smith whiffed 7 and allowed 1 walk in the game. "Not perfect today, but I'll definitely take it," Smith said later. "I made a couple mistakes but thankfully they didn't get all of them and the guys behind me cleaned things up." Up to now Smith has recorded a record of 3-1. In 9 starts he has fanned 54 batters in 64 innings with a 2.95 ERA. |
