Musselwhite Sharp, Whitewashes Spartans, 8-0 Sunday, October 6th , 1991 Jim Musselwhite hurled a fine game for the Jersey City Fire Fighters at Spartans Ballpark today, holding the Chandler Spartans to 7 hits in a shutout win. "When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy," Jersey City manager Cody Hawkes said. "The more pitches he throws, the better his command is." The right-hander had 4 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 8-0 victory. "An outstanding job," Chandler manager Eric Fernandes said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game." Season-to-date Musselwhite has rung up 4 wins and 6 losses in 13 appearances. He has an ERA of 3.29 and has fanned 86 batters in 93 innings. |
