East Pasadena Shuts Out Heroes, Ramirez Winner Tuesday, August 27th , 1991 In an outstanding mound performance, East Pasadena 76ers starter Rafael Ramirez fired a complete-game shutout against the Boone Heroes at Heroes Ballpark today. Ramirez was the key to the 76ers's 6-0 win. The 17-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 4 hits and 4 walks he allowed. "4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." On the year Ramirez has worked 108.2 innings with 104 strikeouts en route to a 3-10 record and 4.56 ERA. |
