Sunday, October 20th , 1991
A baseball manager's success usually depends on the talent of his club, but in the case of David McGough, he seems to have taken the Amarillo Swordsmen to a higher level and gotten his just due. He was named this season's Manager of the Year in the Sub League 1 for leading the team to a very rewarding season.
"Everyone on the team put in a lot of hard work this season," he told reporters. "It's always nice when it's acknowledged in some way."
McGough led Amarillo to a second place finish in the Sub League 1 West Division. The Swordsmen ended up with a 79-65 record.
