Agramonte Tosses No-Hitter Against Cypress Tuesday, September 10th , 1991 Is it better to be lucky or good? After leading the Wichita Spiders to victory, 4-0, and tossing a no-hitter over the Cypress Air Riders, Sal Agramonte didn't have the answer. "I don't know," Agramonte said. "To do what I did today, I'm pretty sure it takes both." On his big day at Spiders Ballpark, Agramonte fanned 8 and had 2 walks. And it seemed that when the Air Riders managed to hit the ball hard, it went right at a defender. "That's how you get a no-hitter," Agramonte said with a smile. "A lot of skill mixed with a little luck." So far in 31 appearances this season, Agramonte has recorded 13 wins and sustained 12 losses. He has pitched 234 innings, yielded 184 hits, fanned 193 and has a 2.92 ERA. |
