Lapsley Humbles Oxnard, 3-0 Monday, August 26th , 1991 A favor to his bullpen. That's what Jalen Lapsley was doing at Rancho Cucamonga Grounds today as he blanked the Oxnard Blackhawks in a 9-inning complete game shutout. "I went out there to try to eat up innings and help out our bullpen," the Rancho Cucamonga Tigercats left-hander said later. "I felt I had my good stuff, and it turned out my command was solid." Lapsley notched 9 strikeouts, surrendered 1 walk, allowed 3 hits, and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long. This year Lapsley has worked 192.2 innings with 152 strikeouts en route to a 5-13 record and a 3.60 ERA. |
