Armstrong Hurls Patriots to Shutout Victory Friday, July 26th , 1991 Jack Armstrong had the River Forest Warriors dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 3-0 shutout performance for the Newark Patriots. He gave up 4 hits, issued 3 walks and had 9 strikeouts. River Forest hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery. "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point," opposing manager Larry Williams said. "We just never figured him out." This year Armstrong has compiled a 10-5 mark with a 2.03 ERA. |
