Mud Cats Shut Out Mad Dogs, Oakey Winner Wednesday, May 5th , 1915 Scott Oakey kept the Santa Ana College Mad Dogs hitters off balance all game long, as the Los Angeles College Mud Cats pitcher blanked the Mad Dogs, 2-0. Oakey gave up 5 hits, struck out 5, and walked 0. In the postgame press conference, the right-hander was reluctant to talk about the outing at length. "It was a nice win in a long season," he said. "I don't want to dwell too much on it." This season, Oakey has a 8-10 mark in 21 starts with a 3.03 ERA. He has given up 181 hits in 172 innings, struck out 73 and issued 36 walks.
