Hugill Heads LUA Best Player List

The future looks extremely bright for Anderson Hugill. At the age of 22, many players are still trying to find their way in US Collegiate Baseball Association.
Hugill has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Laurel-Union Association Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .341 this year, that's for sure," the first baseman said.
The Elmhurst Elms star also put up a .449 on-base percentage this year, with 72 hits, 16 doubles, 5 triples, 2 home runs, 36 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 16. Dominic Coles of the Norwich Cadets finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Laurence Bell of the Elmhurst Elms finished third.

He may have less experience than most of his US Collegiate Baseball Association peers, but that didn't slow Gordon Young down at all in 1918.
At the age of 22, the Greenmount center fielder has been named the winner of the Continental Federation Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .336 batting average and a .388 on-base percentage this year. In 60 games he piled up 77 hits, 13 doubles, 7 triples, 1 home run, 31 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. William Howard of the Whittaker Bulldogs finished second in voting, while Ernest Mitchell of the Greenmount Rams finished third.
