No Late-Season Magic Coming: Gettysburg Out of Playoffs
Thursday, August 8th , 1918
The hopes of lifting a championship trophy in Gettysburg this year have now vanished. The Gettysburg Union have been eliminated from postseason contention.
"I'm not happy but I'm trying to come to terms with it," starting pitcher Harvey Clark said.
This is the club's 2nd playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 1916. In total, the Union have missed the playoffs 7 times in their 13-year history.
