Lakers Move on to League Championship Series
Monday, August 20th , 1917
After their 1-0 win today at Wingnuts Field over the Poplar Bluff Howlers, the Duluth Lakers will advance to the League Championship Series. Duluth won the series by a 3-2 margin.

Leading the way for the Lakers was reliever Austin Cronshey, who had a spectacular series and was named MVP.

"I don't play differently in the regular season or playoffs. I just go out and do my best every game," he said. "It's certainly nice to play in the big game, but you can't let it get to your head and change your focus."

The Duluth Lakers will play against the Wilmington Arsenal in the next round. Wilmington won their series against the Jersey City Chicks 3 games to 0. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
