Duluth Sits Atop Sub League 2 Great Lakes
Monday, August 13th , 1917
It's a good day to be a fan of the Duluth Lakers, as the club has won the Sub League 2 Great Lakes - by the slimmest of margins.

"It makes it that much sweeter to win the thing by only a game," said starting pitcher Charles Gray. "It easily could have gone the other way, but we're all happy that wasn't the case."

Lakers players stayed in the clubhouse late into the night celebrating the victory, which was earned on the strength of the team's 58-63 record. It is the 7th Sub League 2 Great Lakes title in Lakers history.

Duluth will now be vying for its 4th Reserve League championship.
