Loveridge Crafts 3-0 Shutout
Friday, July 20th , 1917
It wasn't easy but the Wilmington Arsenal made it look that way.

Starter Noel Loveridge shut out the Washington Senators despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Wilmington Arsenal cruised to victory, 3-0. Loveridge allowed only 6 hits and rang up 8 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

This season in 27 starts, Noel Loveridge has a record of 20-4 with 108 strikeouts in 235.1 innings and a 1.80 ERA.
