Back Goes 5-for-6 Against Appalachia Academy
Monday, April 28th , 1919
Addison Back put on a hitting clinic as the New York Academy Blacks dumped the Appalachia Academy Reds, 14-7, at Academy Ballpark of Morgantown.

The New York Academy catcher made Appalachia Academy defenders earn their pay, lashing Appalachia Academy pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Back said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Addison Back doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

In 41 games Back is hitting .333 this season with 45 hits, no home runs, 8 RBIs, 4 walks, .350 OBP and has scored 8 runs.
