Knight Shuts Out New York Academy, 2-0

In an excellent mound performance, Merrill Knight of the Gulf Academy Blues blanked the New York Academy Blacks, 2-0, on a 7-hitter.
"I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches," he said after the game.
In all, the Gulf Academy hurler rang up 2 strikeouts and 2 walks in the shutout win.
"We just didn't swing the bats well today," said Blacks manager Emery Williams. "Knight did a good job keeping us guessing."
This year, Knight has recorded a 9-2 mark. In 17 starts he has fanned 64 batters in 149.2 innings with a 0.78 ERA.
