Blues Hurler Minter Tosses Masterpiece Thursday, April 26th , 1917 Warden Minter dominated the Gulf Academy Blues with a brilliant 3-hit shutout in the 2-0 New England Academy Blues triumph at Academy Ballpark of Augusta. The New England Academy hurler fanned 6 and walked 4 in the game and was singled out for praise afterward by the opposing manager. "He really kept us in check today," Blues skipper Samuel Hosking said in postgame comments. "Everything looked to be moving.
