New England Academy Shuts Out Blacks, Togwell Winner Thursday, April 12th , 1917 In a very sharp performance at Academy Ballpark of Norfolk, Clark Togwell of the New England Academy Blues blanked the Tidewater Academy Blacks, 3-0. He permitted 7 hits and finished with no strikeouts and no walks in the Blues victory. "Clark goes out there and just goes about his business," Blues manager Matthew Jakubowski said in his postgame press conference. "I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on.
