Injury Derails Season for Dockeray Thursday, April 5th , 1917 Earl Dockeray had hoped for the best, but expected the worst. Today, he learned from the Appalachia Academy medical staff that he would miss the rest of the season. The Appalachia Academy designated hitter suffered a sore shoulder in an earlier ballgame. He admitted to being discouraged, but said he plans to come back strong next year. |
