Scripps Tosses No-No Against Reds Wednesday, March 21st , 1917 Raul Scripps of the Great Lakes Academy Whites was the King of the Hill at Academy Ballpark of Duluth. The Great Lakes Academy starter dominated the Mid-Atlantic Academy Reds, giving up zero hits in his 5-0 victory. "The toughest part was the last couple of innings," Scripps recounted after the game. "You know you have a no-hitter going, and so does everybody in the ballpark. That was the hard part, keeping focused and concentrating while your heart is pounding."
