Foster Nabs SL2 Academy Champion Award Sunday, June 13th , 1915 John Foster of the Tidewater Academy Blacks had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Academy Champion Award for 1915. The 16-year-old right fielder put up a .313 average and a .361 on-base percentage, piling up 71 hits, 14 doubles, 8 triples, 1 home run, 21 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 16.
