Barrage of Hits Gets Cottingham GSL Award Monday, August 2nd , 1915 Pitchers who faced the Kansas City Stars last week were happy to see Martin Cottingham in the rear-view mirror. The 27-year-old right fielder was dubbed the Great Southern Player of the Week for a 6-game tear that saw him hit at a .520 clip. For the week he also chalked up 13 hits in 25 at-bats, no home runs, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. This season, Cottingham has hit at a .347 clip with 52 RBIs, 5 home runs and 38 runs scored. He has played in 101 games. |
