Bears Fall Short, 5-4, at Kansas City
|
The Kansas City Stars beat the Memphis Bears, 5-4, at Stars Stadium. The Stars got a fine performance from right fielder Martin Cottingham, who went 3-3 with 2 triples and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The loss drops the Bears to 6-12.
Early in the game, Cottingham had a run-scoring triple for Kansas City. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Stars on top, 1-0.
"We found a way to get it done," Cottingham said.
