Pittsburgh Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R2
|
Leave it to the veteran.
The Pittsburgh Rollers got a great start from 37-year-old right-hander Harrison Robinson, as Pittsburgh won the contest, 4-2, at The Race Track. Robinson threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 run in the win, which allowed the Pittsburgh to grab a 2-1 lead in the best-of-9 series.
In the bottom of the fifth, Pittsburgh third baseman Jim Thomas had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and no one out, Thomas stroked a run-scoring double to right-center. It made the score 1-0, Pittsburgh. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Robinson.
Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday at Goobers Ballpark in Savannah.
