Road Win Lifts New York to 2-1 Lead in R1
The New York Black Kings moved to within one game of the Negro League Cup Series, downing the Pittsburgh Rollers on the road at The Race Track by a score of 4-2. Black Kings right-hander Paul Clark had a strong outing. He threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Black Kings a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Championship Cup Series.

Willie Crow, who finished 3rd in the GNL in stolen bases with 57 in 1912, had a direct impact on the outcome. Crow contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put New York up, 2-0.

"Paul has got a slow heartbeat," said New York manager Walter Dunlap. "He doesn't panic or anything."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Race Track in Pittsburgh.
