Road Win Lifts Savannah to 1-0 Lead in R1
The Savannah Goobers started the Championship Cup Series in style, winning on the road against the Atlanta Foxes at Foxes Ballpark by a score of 7-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Goobers first baseman George Gill excelled. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

Gill had an important at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the seventh, when he hit a 2-run single. The Goobers went on to win.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Gill.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Foxes Ballpark in Atlanta.
