Road Win Lifts Portland to 1-0 Lead in PCS
|
The Portland Rosebuds started the Pacific Championship in style today, winning on the road against the San Francisco Spots at Spots Grounds by a score of 6-4 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-9 series. Rosebuds third baseman Warner Norwood excelled. He went 2-3 with a triple and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Norwood contributed in the top of the third. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 2-run triple. It was one at-bat among others that helped Portland get the win.
"There's nothing like the postseason," said Norwood, "to ramp up the pressure."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Spots Grounds in San Francisco.
