Miners Hammered by Leatham, Drop Game 6 to Sawyers
In a crucial game, the Seattle Sawyers put on their best show, beating the Sacramento Miners by a final score of 11-9 today. Elbert Leatham belted 3 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored three times. Seattle and Sacramento are now tied at 3 wins apiece in the best-of-9 affair.

Seattle needed the clutch hitting of Mearl Strode to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Sawyers on top, 11-9. For the game, Strode had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Strode.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Miners Park in Sacramento.
