Spokane Suns starter Elzie Gretton hurled his team past the Seattle Sawyers, 2-1. John Winfield notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 6-6. The Suns, at 76-66, sit in second place in the Cascadian Baseball League.

Laurence Belgrave clinched the win with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth. In the game, the Charlotte, North Carolina native drove in one run.

"We found a way to win tonight," Gretton said.
