The Portland Rosebuds earned a win at Sawyers Grounds, stopping the Seattle Sawyers, 4-1. Starting pitcher Percy Sibley played a big role in his team's success. Sibley, now 13-17, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The last-place Rosebuds now sit at 58-81.
Left Fielder Lamar Micklem made an impact for Portland, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Verne Bell in the top of the third. For the contest, Micklem went 1-4 with a triple.
"Percy's a trooper," said Portland manager Murray Embleton. "He always gives it all he's got."
