Starting pitcher Guido Elworthy pitched well enough to help the Seattle Sawyers beat the Portland Rosebuds, 6-4. The Sawyers raised their record to 54-71.

Seattle used a well-timed hit by Carl Attersol to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Sawyers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Seattle manager Cloyd Tressler called it "a good, solid win."
