Guido Elworthy, who is tied for 4th in the CBL in strikeouts with 97, was locked in. The right-hander led the Seattle Sawyers to a 5-4 win against the Spokane Suns at Sawyers Grounds. The triumph puts Seattle at 61-52 for the season.

Elbert Leatham drove in one run for Seattle. The 29-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Rolla Bracebridge. It was his 16th RBI of the season.

"I felt good up there," said Leatham. "I saw the ball well."
