Well, that's how to end a game in style.

The Seattle Sawyers eked out a 1-0 win versus the Tacoma Larks at Sawyers Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Joseph Matthews. He was terrific. The third-place Sawyers hiked their record to 47-57.

The decisive blow was delivered by Cloyd Faunthorpe in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring triple off 11-year veteran Reginald Dainty to win the game for Seattle. The home crowd went nuts.

"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said Matthews.
