Bell Tosses 3-0 Shutout
|
In an excellent mound performance, Verne Bell of the Seattle Sawyers blanked the Tacoma Larks 3-0 on a 3-hitter.
"I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches," he said after the game.
In all, the Seattle hurler rang up 4 strikeouts and 3 walks in the shutout win.
"We just didn't swing the bats well today," said Larks manager Earl Brown. "Bell did a good job keeping us guessing."
Checking out his stats for the season, Bell has registered 7 wins and 14 losses in 25 starts, posted a 2.31 ERA, and struck out 68 batters in 198.1 innings.
