Rosebuds Clipped, 10-6
The Seattle Sawyers had to overcome a big game from Portland left fielder Lamar Micklem to leave Brown Ballpark of Portland with a victory. And they did, winning, 10-6. Micklem went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win went to Hunter Gosselin in relief, making him now 5-4. Ambrose Watcham took the loss for Portland. Seattle sits in second place in the Cascadian Baseball League at 50-45.

Seattle used the timely hitting of Garfield Malden to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sawyers on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Malden told the Seattle Citizen.
