At Larks Field, the Seattle Sawyers and Tacoma Larks were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

In the 9-3 Tacoma win over Seattle, the impact of Tony Mugford was substantial. Mugford, who is tied for 8th in the CBL with a .242 batting average, went 3-5 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Frank Chapman got the win, improving to 7-9. He held the Sawyers to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2.

In the bottom of the fourth inning of a 3-3 tie, Tacoma right fielder James Kent reached on an error by the right fielder, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Tacoma on top, 4-3.

"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Seattle skipper Cloyd Tressler.

Tacoma has rattled off 5 straight wins.
