The Spokane Suns scooped up a win at Sawyers Grounds, dumping the Seattle Sawyers, 6-1. Elzie Gretton, who is tied for 8th in the CBL in innings pitched with 122.0, was essential to his team's success. With the win, Spokane raised its record to 38-30.

Spokane used a clutch at-bat from Laurence Belgrave to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Suns ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Belgrave.
