Sawyers Use Late Score to Top Rosebuds, 3-2
Portland got a terrific performance from pitcher Robert Sargent, but it wasn't enough to beat the Seattle Sawyers. Seattle won the Brown Ballpark of Portland contest, 3-2. Sargent threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. With the win, Seattle pushed its record to 36-26.

Seattle used the timely hitting of Ivan Johnson to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 17th inning to put the Sawyers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 7 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Parker Bell, the Seattle skipper. "This one tested us."
