Sawyers Get One-Run Win at Tacoma
|
In a tight tilt between the Seattle Sawyers and the Tacoma Larks, Guido Elworthy was the deciding factor. The Seattle right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Elworthy, now 5-8, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The setback makes Tacoma 32-25.
With the game tied, 2-2, in the top of the seventh, Elworthy had a key at-bat for Seattle. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Elworthy hit a run-scoring single off Joseph Robinson, making the score 3-2, Sawyers.
"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Elworthy.
