Larks Rebuff Sawyers, 4-2
|
Tacoma got a strong outing from Lloyd Parker as the Larks defeated the Seattle Sawyers, 4-2, at Larks Field. Parker, the winner, moves to 6-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. Tacoma is now 31-16, 7 games up in the Cascadian Baseball League.
James Kent had a big 2-run double for the Larks in the bottom of the first inning. With Tacoma leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a splitter from Millard White, who is tied for 6th in the CBL with a 2.29 ERA, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Larks ahead, 4-0.
"I executed the game plan," said Parker.
