Rosebuds Rally to Eke Out Win
The Portland Rosebuds, despite a fine performance by Seattle pitcher Millard White, grabbed a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Portland. White allowed 2 runs over 9 innings. So far, the 1916 season has been disappointing for Seattle, now 6-9.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 16th inning, when Portland shortstop Laverne Hotten, facing Joseph Matthews, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Rosebuds the 3-2 win.

"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Hotten.
