The San Francisco Spots picked up a win at Ducks Ballpark, dropping the Oakland Ducks, 4-1. Rolla Bracebridge, who finished 5th in the CPL in wins with 17 in 1913, was the difference-maker. San Francisco's record now stands at 81-61, placing them first in the Californian Professional League.

Charles Matthews provided a timely hit. The San Francisco pinch hitter delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Spots on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Bracebridge.
