Pitcher Bennie Hardesty was sensational for the San Francisco Spots in his team's 4-0 triumph over the Sacramento Miners. Hardesty earned the win. San Francisco goes to 69-54. The win puts them 9½ games up in their division.

The Miners had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Spots going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old first baseman Eino Fuller came to the plate. Fuller hit a run-scoring double on a 1-1 fastball from Sacramento hurler Charles Jefferson. It was Fuller's 19th double of the year.

"Watch and learn," said Fuller. "This is what good pitching looks like."
