4-1 Triumph Takes Oakland to 74-45
|
Lee Bennett was nothing short of phenomenal for the Oakland Ducks. The 29-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Sacramento Miners, 4-1. In 9 innings, Bennett surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Ducks, at 74-45, have a comfortable 15-game lead in their division.
The game still hung in the balance with two out in the top of the eighth inning. Bennett, however, wiggled out of a jam. With the bases loaded and Sacramento trailing 4-1, Bennett retired Francisco Thompson, who flied out.
