Fidgeon Now 8-15 After Subduing Miners
Bennie Fidgeon, who is tied for 8th in the CPL in strikeouts with 87, was terrific for the Los Angeles Lions in his team's 7-1 triumph over the Sacramento Miners. His performance earned Fidgeon rave reviews. The Lions, at 54-59, sit in last place in the Californian Professional League.

Fidgeon, the winning pitcher, goes to 8-15 on the season. In 8.2 innings, the right-hander limited the opposition to 1 run on 4 hits, while recording 6 punchouts. Fidgeon and the Lions were able to cruise to victory.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Los Angeles skipper Herman Killigrew.
